cape - george@asda  //  jumper - primark  //  skirt - primark  //  boots - c/o online avenue *  //  belt - matalan (old)

i really like the cape trend thats happening this winter season, i love that floaty, boho, world traveller look, but couldn't ever commit to a design i liked. i didn't want to opt for the popular tartan/check look, plus i definitely have too much check in my wardrobe at the moment. so i was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this cutie in asda last weekend. its a great neutral colour palette that will go with everything, the pattern is subtle but can easily be transitioned throughout the seasons i think. i wore this into london yesterday for a trip to the science museum and then a meal out and theatre trip as a wedding present from our friends. layering was my friend, as you can see from the random white specks in these photos, it was snowing and very cold. did you buy into the cape trend this season, how did you style yours?

thanks

jacket - c/o celeblook *  //  jumper - c/o blue vanilla *   //  jeans - Primark  //  boots - Matalan (old)  //  hat - primark

I love a hat, i literally live in a hat throughout the winter months so i was very happy to find this cute one in my little bag of Christmas presents from my Mum last week and it hasn't really left my head since. I also got this amazing satchel from the husband for Christmas. I've always had a white satchel but my current one was falling apart so i was on the hunt for new one. We found this one in a random bag shop for less then £20 and again i have used it everyday since. I love this jumper from blue vanilla, its such a great piece to casually throw on and looks great with a pair of black skinnies.

A style journey....

So its New Years Eve which meant taking a trip back through old blog posts. Its very awkward looking back over this blog and anything before January this year is a bit of a write off in my eyes. I really think i started to properly blog in January 2014 mainly because i braved the elements and got over my fear of not only the husband taking my photos but taking them in public too. I still get annoyed at people watching me but my outfit posts are better for it.

January, February and March saw me mixing up the prints and dropping in a flash of colour here and there. The first picture was my very first outside photoshoot for the blog and i was so pleased to finally get decent full length photos of my outfit. I tried to mix up the location of my pictures in the second picture but in the end opted for the brick wall, seen in the third picture, for the majority of my photos throughout 2014 and its still a favourite background of mine.

March, April and May saw me breaking out a lot of pastel colours in my outfits and mastering the 'looking at the floor' blogger pose. This section of the year also saw me working with a lot of brands, which I am so grateful for. Obviously i don't blog just to be sent clothes but its certainly an incentive to keep evolving and making my blog better.

May, June and  July meant the weather was getting warmer and the arms and legs gradually began to appear. I also got hair extensions making me feel like Rapunzel for a few months. The last outfit was a popular one with Look magazine tweeting it as their 'look of the day'

The sun was shining and the blogging juices were flowing in July, August and September. All three of these outfits are particular favs of the year. The first image saw me lucky enough to work with French Connection and also a new found love for the denim jacket. The second image was regrammed by boohoo on instagram, making my insta account go crazy and i gained about 300 new followers in the space of an hour. The third outfit was featured on Asos Fashion Finder home page, which i had been hoping to achieve at some point this year.

In September and October i tried to mix up the locations a bit, i particularly like the autumnal feel to the last picture. The autumnal layers started to re-surface with my fav denim and leather jackets making a return. The crossed leg pose also came into its own during the latter part of 2014.

October and November saw me go from glam to boho to cosy all in at the space of a few weeks. The hair was chopped off and my obsession with tartan and checks really began to blossom. My old favourite the brick wall also made a welcome return to my photos.

So December brought us a fairly mild couple of weeks but oversized and cozy was still the way to go outfit wise. As you can see checks are well and truly my style choice of 2014 with this trend featuring in almost all of my posts during November and December and quite possibly January 2015 too.

2014 has been a pretty amazing year for me, i got engaged in January, promoted in April, graduated in September and Married in November... how is 2015 ever going to compete with that? In terms of my blog i have loved my year of outdoor location shots and am so pleased that the husband is happy to be my personal photographer. I think my blog has really evolved this year and intend to continue into 2015 with my new improved layout (what do ya think?) and experiment more with photo quality and various locations. Thanks to all my regular readers and their comments, thats why I blog, seeya next year.

jumper - primark  //  skirt - c/o Sugarhillboutique *  //  shoes - ?  //  bag - primark  //  necklace - notonthehighstreet (old)

This is a little outfit i wore over the festive period. We went to see family on boxing day and i really wanted to wear this gorgeous skirt that etailpr sent me from sugarhillboutique, its such a cute print, a little glitzy and kinda reminds me of christmas trees. I wasn't brave enough for a bare leg so opted to wear with tights, which i usually hate with a midi but am pleasantly surprised. I think the black jumper and black tights work well together and the festive burgundy shoes and bag really make the outfit stand out. Check out my cute antler necklace too (present from the husband last year). So Christmas is over again, hope you've had a great time and now for the lead up to New Year. Have any of you braved the sales yet? We're attempting it today but i tend to ignore the sale rails and go for the nice, neat new arrivals, i can't be bothered with all the sales faffing around.

Thanks

Jacket - Zara (similar here) //  Shirt - H&M  //  Trousers - H&M  //  Shoes - Dorothy Perkins  //  Bag - primark //  Scarf - New look (similar here)

This cute oversized check shirt is possibly my favourite piece of clothing at the moment. I love it with these pleather trousers and denim jacket. I've been wearing this fur scarf from new look constantly since I brought it in October and am desperate to find the maroon Primark one i keep seeing on instagram and other blogs. I'm actually off shopping today (last minute presents, eek!) so fingers crossed I manage to grab it. I guess a lot of you have finished work/school for Christmas unfortunately for me I'm working right up until 4pm on Christmas eve but I do have a week off between christmas and new year. Hope you all have a fab week.

Thanks

Tartan coat

Coat - New Look (teens)  //  jumper - Primark  //  jeans - Primark //  bag - Primark  //  Shoes - F&F at Tesco

Its all about staying warm in this weather right? Snuggly, oversized jumpers are the way forward until about March for me. I was really lucky to pick this coat up in the kids section of New Look for £20, its the perfect length and the tartan print on it is so wintery and gorgeous. Tesco are so on their shoe game right now, these little babies are so similar to a pair I nearly brought in Next but they are half the price.  Even though its cold I still can't stop wearing my ripped denim jeans, is it acceptable to wear tights under jeans, or do I need to embrace the cold knees?
Thanks

Jacket - Primark (old)  //  Jumper - c/o chicnova *  //  Culottes - Primark  //  Shoes - Deichmann  //  Bag - New Look via Asos  //  Necklace - Primark

It's official I'm obsessed with checks and tartan. Apologies in advance my next two outfit posts are also featuring my apparent favourite trend, who knew i loved it so much.  I've actually had to throw this jumper away since wearing it on thursday night for a meal with my gal pals. I got lipstick on it which didn't come off in the wash so in a fit of anger i chucked it in the bin (warning: don't get Rimmel Provocalips on your clothes). Anyway i love these culottes from primark, although they do get creased really easy i think they look perfect with my slingback mules.
Hope you like this look, comment and let me know below.

Outfit of the week #81 - (Not more Tartan!)

 Jumper - Primark   //   Skirt - H&M   //   Boots - George @ Asda   //    Bag - Primark

So Apparently tartan is in fashion.... can you tell I'm obsessed considering my last three outfit posts have featured some kind of tartan garment? This little pleated skirt is the cutest thing ever and a steal at £7 in the H&M sale. I can't stop wearing this jumper and yes you may see it in another outfit post next week. Although I am heading to the shops on Monday (day off, woooo!) So I'll see it I can grab another colour in good old Primark. This outfit feels kinda christmassy to me, potential christmas day outfit????

The oversized jumper!

Jumper - Primark  //  Trousers - Red Herring at Debenhams (similar here) //  Boots - c/o Barratts * (old)  //  Bag - Primark

Sometimes you get an item of clothing that you just can't wait to wear with everything, this is that item of clothing. The oversized jumper and generally oversized clothing, is hot right now and my guess is you're gonna be sick of seeing this jumper in my outfit posts this winter. Also a big fan of tartan again, in my last post I rocked the tartan scarf and now its all about these amazing trousers. Such a gorgeous dark, subtle tartan. Got these boots last winter and wore them to death so it only seems appropriate to wear them again... everyday.

What I would have worn to LFW

So I didn't get to go to London Fashion Week over the weekend or this week but I've been enjoying all the pictures on twitter, Instagram and blogs! I find LFW a great source of inspiration for future outfits and ignites my need for a shopping trip pronto. One day I will go to wander around outside Somerset house and perhaps spy on some of my favourite bloggers.

On Sunday I pretended I was actually going to LFW and this is what I would have worn had I jumped on a train, instead I did the weekly shop in Tesco and then headed to a 60th birthday celebration (oooo party times)!

Love a bit of layering at the moment and this is a perfect way to wear a crop top in the winter! How cute is my little name necklace? I found it in H&M and it comes with all the letters of the alphabet so you can have your name of choice, although if you have two of the same letters in your name then sorry you're screwed! P.S. Loving my hair in these pics, hello perfect fringe, you almost never happen!

Hope you like my almost London Fashion Week outfit, let me know your thoughts in my comments.
Thanks
